Esher are chasing Wasps whizkid Joe Simpson after being rocked by a scrum-half crisis on the eve of the new National One campaign. Esher chief Mike Schmid has lost the services of Graham Barr and Llyr Lane due to personal reasons. That leaves Ian Barnes and London Irish ace Tom Parker as Esher’s only recognised No 9s. Now Schmid is due to hold talks with Wasps Academy chief Rob Smith this week in a bid to land Simpson.
